Tim Tebow Starting to Heat up in Binghamton

After a relatively slow start to the 2018 season, Binghamton Rumble Ponies outfielder Tim Tebow has kicked it into high gear as of late, helping his team to four wins in their last eight contests.

Last night against New Hampshire, he was on base four times, knocking a pair of singles and drawing a couple of walks.

Tebow was 2-for-15 through the year’s first four games, but since then he’s hit safely in eight of ten, raising his average from .133 to .250 in the process and his OPS to .717.

It’s clear that the 30-year-old has become more comfortable in the Eastern League, not looking too jumpy at the dish and trying to take the ball to the opposite field as much as possible. He currently has a .250/.321/.396 slash line while hitting .303 over his last ten games.

It remains to be seen if Tebow can maintain any type of consistency, but before there can be any talk of a promotion, he’ll need to do something about his 46% strikeout rate.

As was the case last season, any good in his game has come with a bunch of negatives that need correcting.
