To make room on the roster for the newly resigned Hairston and Cedeno the Mets had to make two cuts from there 40 man roster. They decided to cut Fernando Martinez and Danny Herrera. First, the 23 year old top prospect isn’t EVER going to produce in the majors, sorry guys it’s true. He gets hurt every season and is not the player everyone thought he would be. This is a good choice by them to cut Martinez. I like Herrera, however, it is very hard to find a reliever who can throw that many breaking pitches for strikes and precision. I really liked what he brought to the table every day and if he gets claimed, I will miss him. He was actually one of my favorite Mets.
