3 Standout Performances:
- R.A. Dickey was phenomenal going 8 innings, letting up 3 hits, 1 run, and struck out 9 Athletics.
- K-Rod blew the save in the 9th for his 3rd of the year and his 2nd in a row.
- Justin Turner had a clutch go-ahead RBI single and a walk-off Hit by pitch.
Dickey had so much movement tonight and honestly had no-hit stuff. His Knuckler was moving so well. He made one mistake to Suzuki that was a homer and Hairston lost the other ball in the lights. Too bad that K-Rod blew the save for him.
Turner finds new ways to drive in runs every night. Tonight he drove in a run on a HBP and he is the Mets most clutch player so far this year.
Bay regressed again, so I don’t know when he will return to his old form.
The Mets bullpen (besides K-Rod) was so good tonight not giving up a run over 4 innings and striking out 5.
They had the strikeout pitch going tonight striking out 16 Athletics.
