Frenchy is gone…we traded him off waivers to the Rangers for Arias. I don’t know much about him, but all I know is that I am happy for Frenchy. I love him, and now he can possibly play in a postseason game. Good luck Frenchy….good luck.

- Jon Niese went 7 strong innings while allowing 1 run. He did not earn a win.
- Hisanori Takahashi closed out the game tonight pitching a hitless 9th with a strikeout.
Niese deserved a win today…oh well.
It was good to see Wright get some hits..he is really struggling.
Carlos homered tonight which is a very good sign.
Grade for the Game: B+
Mets Post Game: Mets 1, Phillies 0
The Numbers:
- Johan Santana was absolutely spectacular tonight throwing 7 1/3 innings of shutout baseball while giving up just 5 hits, 3 walks, and striking out 6 batters.
- K-Rod pitched 1 2/3, gave up 0 hits, walked 1, and struck out 2. He was awarded the save tonight.
- Jeff Francoeur hit the game-winning home run off Cole Hamels in the 7th inning to give the Mets a lead.
- No Met had more than 1 hit tonight.
Wow Johan… this was a huge game and he pitched great. All of my doubts that he is no longer a stopper and an ace went away tonight.
Huge homer by Frenchy the night he learned that he will be platooning with Fernando Martinez.
The Mets brought in Tejada and Martinez to add youth and range to this club. That paid off as Tejada made 4 spectacular plays that would have been hits if Castillo was playing.
Grade for the Game: A
Mets Post Game: Mets 3, Braves 2
The Numbers:
- R.A. Dickey was worse than usual but still great. He went 6 innings gave up 2 runs, he walked 4, and struck out 2.
- Luis Castillo had 2 hits tonight and scored a run.
- Jose Reyes hit a big RBI double to put the Mets on the board.
- Jeff Francoeur had the biggest hit of the night with a home run off of Wagner to put the Mets in the lead.
- Manny Acosta pitched 1 2/3 of hitless relief and got the win.
- K-Rod pitched an inning to get the save.
Frenchy homered off Wagner to give the METS the lead…pretty funny,
Manny Acosta has been so good for the Mets since he was recalled.
I’m shocked more runners didn’t get on against Frankie.
Dickey has been the biggest surprise in baseball.
Huge win tonight and it was a come from behind win.
Grade for the Game: A
Mets Post Game: Mets 8, Cardinals 2
The Numbers:
- Jose Reyes went 1-for-5 with a 2-run home run.
- Jeff Francoeur went 1-for-4 with a 3-run home run.
- Every Met starter had a hit besides David Wright and Josh Thole. Yes, I am including Jon Niese in this stat.

- Ike Davis also had an RBI.
- Jon Niese pitched 6+ great innings giving up 7 hits and 1 run.
- Manny Acosta gave up a run, but Valdes and K-Rod pitched scoreless innings.
Finally some offense…
Niese was great tonight, out-dueling Adam Wainwright.

Grade for the Game: A
Mets Post Game: Dodgers 2, Mets 0
The Numbers:
- Hisanori Takahashi was great tonight going 7 innings allowing 3 hits, 2 runs, 2 walks, and 5 strikeouts.
- Frenchy had 2 hits tonight coming off of the bench.
- The other backup Chris Carter also had a hit.
- The Mets had 1st and 3rd with 1 out and did not score a run. Shockingly Josh Thole was at the plate during this.
This is getting bad. I am extremely worried about this team as it nears the .500 mark.
Tak was great tonight and showed that if he stayed in the rotation, it could work out if he was the last resort.
Santana tomorrow so hopefully the Mets can win when he is on the mound.
Grade for the Game: F
Mets Post Game: Mets 6, Twins 0
What’s Important:
Hitting:
The Mets got 3 big home runs today from Jeff Francoeur, David Wright, and Ike Davis. Francoeur had 3 hits today, as did Jesus Feliciano and David Wright. Ike had 2 hits today, and his homer went all the way out to Shea Bridge. Rod Barajas also contributed with an RBI single.
Pitching:
Jon Niese was very impressive going 6+ innings: 4 hits, 0 run, 3 walks and 5 strikeouts. This was a big start after the rain hurt his last outing, preventing him from getting a win. Dessens pitched a scoreless 7th inning, Feliciano a scoreless 8th, and Parnell a scoreless 9th inning to get the win.
Grade for the Game: A
Jose Reyes did slump toward the end of the series, but the Mets still scored runs to win the ballgame. David Wright and Ike Davis were impressive in this win and so was Francoeur. We had Mets break out of slumps and come through for a shutout win. Also, we gained a game on the Braves today.
Mets Post Game: Mets 14, Tigers 6
What’s Important:
Hitting:
For these types of games I like to just go through the box score to show what everyone did. Jose Reyes led off tonight going 3 for 6 with an RBI and a stolen base. Angel Pagan had a 4 for 6 night driving in 4 runs and going a homer away from the cycle. David Wright went 3 for 3 with 2 walks and NO strikeouts. Ike Davis went 3 for 6 with 3 RBIs. Bay went 1 for 2 with 2 walks with 2 RBIs and no strikeouts tonight to. Rod Barajas went 0 for 2 with 2 walks. Francoeur went 1 for 4 with 1 RBI and 1 run scored. Tejada went 1 for 4 with 2 runs scored, 1 RBI, and 1 walk. Jon Niese came up twice and struck out twice.
Pitching:
Jon Niese looked to continue his dominance until he came back out after the rain delay. Before the rain delay he gave up no hits and no runs. But after the delay he let up 6 runs to the Tigers. Nieve was great in relief, and Parnell and Igarashi all pitched scoreless innings.
Grade for the Game: A+
Verlander is a sensational pitcher and the Mets hit him hard. He gave up 9 runs in his start tonight. Each of the 4 Mets hitters all had 3+ hits and all the Met hitters, besides Barajas, had at least 1 hit. No rain delay can stop the Mets. Keep the bats going guys.
Mets Post Game: Mets 7, Marlins 6
What’s Important:
Hitting:
The offense today was all about comebacks and hitting in big spots. Angel Pagan had a big 2 run single today. However, Jeff Francoeur stayed hot going 2 for 4 with a big 3 run home run and a double. David Wright went 3 for 4 with 0 RBIs.
Pitching:
Hisanori Takahashi is worse than how he pitched. He went 6 innings and gave up 5 runs on 6 hits. He gave up a 3 run home run in the 6th innings. Igarashi gave up a run but, Dessens and Feliciano combined for a scoreless 8th. K-Rod gave up a hit, but nailed down the save in the 9th.
Grade for the Game: B+
Although the pitching was not good the Mets did one thing today. They got that one big hit that Jerry has been talking about to come back and win the game. The Mets swept the Marlins.
Mets Post Game: Mets 4, Marlins 3
What’s Important:
Hitting:
Tonight the Mets god big games out of Jeff Francoeur, Ruben Tejada, R.A. Dickey, Jason Bay, and Rod Barajas. Francoeur had the biggest game with 2 hits, and driving in 2 runs. Tejada had a double, scored a run, and drove in a run on a ground out. R.A Dickey had an RBI and 2 hits tonight. Jason Bay also had 2 hits including a double and hit the ball hard all 3 times.
Pitching:
R.A. Dickey continued to be great for the Mets tonight. 6 1/3 innings, 7 hits, 3 runs, 2 walks, and 4 strikeouts. He is now 3-0 on the season. Feliciano went a third of an inning and gave up a hit but, Dessens went 1 and 1/3 innings giving up no hits and striking out 1. K-Rod came in to get the save in the ninth but, as usual made Met fans worry.
Grade for the Game: A-
R.A. Dickey was good even when people doubted. Jose Reyes drew two big walks and got 1 hit. Even though the Mets did not score many runs, they came back from down 3-0 to win the game against a team that they could not beat earlier in the year.
