I meant to post this around the all-star break, but honestly I forgot about it.
In July, it clicked with me that Piazza will soon try to manage a big league club, hopefully the Mets. I got this impression in the 2009 world baseball classic when he managed team Italy. He wanted to manage a team and that was his first chance. Also, he has stayed very much in contact with MLB. He has been in the legends game every year and more significantly managed the futures game—in a Mets cap. Oh and remember what happened in this futures game? He brought in Mets prospect pitcher Matt Harvey to get the save. Furthermore, think about what type of players make the best managers. That’s right, catchers. All of this points to Piazza wanting to manage the a big league club preferably the Mets in the future.
