The Numbers:
- Jon Niese started today and went 7 innings, 6 hits, 3 runs (2 earned), 2 walks, and 3 strikeouts.
- David Wright went 2 for 4 with 2 homers, 3 RBI, a walk, and a stolen base.
- Jason Pridie hit a 3 run homer for his first big league homer.
- Beltran and Ike each had 2 hits and a double.
- Reyes and Bay had a hit each.
- Byrdak, Carrasco, and Igarashi finished up the game.
Niese looked really good today using his four seamer more than usual. He brought the walks down from his last start.
It’s great that David Wright showing power, proving 2009 was a fluke.
I know everybody is saying it, but Bay in this lineup makes everything feel different.
Ike Davis is the hands down MVP of this club so far this year.
First sweep of the year… this looks like the Mets at home from last year.
