3 Standout Performances:
- Kirk Nieuwenhuis went 3 for 5 with a triple and a walk-off RBI single.
- Jon Niese went 7 innings, let up 4 hits, 2 runs, 0 walks, and 6 strikeouts.
- Justin Turner had a 14 pitch walk to tie the game in the 9th.
I was at school, however looking a the ball-strike ratio and the other numbers, NIese looked like he was in complete control and had only a few minor hiccups throughout the game.
That at-bat by Turner was the best at-bat that I have seen in a long time. He didn’t swing at any bad pitches and made Bell beat himself.
Kirk Nieuwenhuis has been so good since he came up. He knows how to hit and doesn’t try to overuse his abilities.
