The Numbers:
- Jon Niese started and despite a 5 run first inning, pitched well. He ended up going 5 2/3 innings giving up 5 hits, 6 runs, 6 walks, and 7 strikeouts.
- Carlos Beltran ended up going 3 for 5 with a home run and a triple. He is making himself very trade friendly.
- Ike Davis had 2 hits today and a run scored.
- Lucas Duda had another hit and RBI today.
- Almost every starter besides Josh Thole had a hit today, however Thole took a bases loaded walk.
- Acosta and Green had scoreless outings today.
Carlos Beltran is on fire right now.
Sean Green has been very sharp since being called back up to the bigs.
Niese is losing some steam..hopefully he can still finish the season on a strong note.
