It was announced today that Johan’s surgery was not arthroscopic surgery which could cause him to miss all or most of 2011. Now, you might ask, what is the difference between arthroscopic and regular surgery? An arthroscopic surgery is where the doctor can get to what needs to be repaired by making a small incision and using a camera to see what he is doing. However, it was announced today that the doctor had to make a full incision in order to repair the tear. This takes much longer to recover from than arthroscopic surgery. Hopefully we can see our ace in 2011.
