Hitting:
- Johan Santana was tired of the no run support so he decided to have a 12 pitch AB and hit his first career home run to get himself a run. Also, good job by Gary Cohen calling it saying that he is going to hit one soon.
- Jason Bay hit a big 2 run, 2 out single to give Johan some insurance.
- Jose Reyes went 2 for 4 in his first game since his side injury and brought speed back to the lineup.
Pitching:
- Johan Santana was just spectacular tonight going 9 innings, 3 hits, 0 runs, 3 walks, and 5 strikeouts. This was his first complete game shutout since the second to last game of the year in 2008.
- There is nothing to say because no one else pitched tonight.

Johan Santana had his best game of the year tonight with his shutout. Also, how often does a player end up tops in the hitting and pitching category. That means it was a good night. Bay was good and so was Wright in this game. But, all attention goes to Santana.
